Enrique Colomés Montañés

Architect and Associate Professor of Architectural Projects at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid.

Architect by Universidad Politécnica de Madrid with scholarship courses at the universities of Cornell (USA), Milan (Italy) and specialization in Intervention (UPM). Professor since 1990 in the Department of Architectural Projects of Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid, tutor of graduate and postgraduate final projects, director of doctoral thesis and visiting professor at the universities Karlsruher Institut für Technologie, École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Grenoble, Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana México Unidad Xochimilco, Università di Camerino, Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade de Lisboa and Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de la Universidad de Navarra.

PhD by the program of excellence Proyectos Arquitectónicos Avanzados (2014) with `Premio Extraordinario-UPM’ and International Mentions, among his publications is the book `Mies’ (`Arquitecturas Ausentes del siglo XX’, Madrid 2004 – Brussels 2010), being author of articles on `contemporary theory and practice’ and `learning from the project’ published in research journals such as Constelaciones, REIA, RITA and ZARCH. Presentations at conferences organized by Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Seminarios di Archittetura e Cultura Urbana di Camerino, Fundación Miguel Fisac, Faculdade de Arquitetura da Universidade de Porto, Cátedra Blanca of the Universidad Politécnica de Valencia and the official architects’ associations of Madrid and La Rioja, and lectures given by invitation in Spain, Germany, France, Mexico, Italy and Portugal.

Works and projects of intervention, institutional and cultural architecture, public space and housing, awarded in competitions and published in specialized magazines (Arquitectura Viva, A&V; El Croquis, ON Diseño, Revista COAM, Arquitetura e Vida, Bauwelt, Con Arquitectura) as well as in a variety of books, guides and catalogs. Built work recognized with two ‘COAM Awards’ and finalist of the ‘National Architecture Award’, being selected in the exhibitions ‘Fundación Camuñas’, Premios de Arquitectura y Urbanismo del Ayuntamiento de Madrid 1995-2005′, `Arquitectura Bancaria en España’ (Círculo de Bellas Artes 1999), `Bienal Española de Arquitectura y Urbanismo’ (2007 and 1997), `IX Biennale di Venezia’, `Madrid 100% Arquitectura’ (2009), `Arquitectura Española 1975-2010′ and `Premios COAM 2005-2016′.
